Model Glider Competition 2023: Celebrating the Future of Aeronautics

The Rajiv Gandhi Science Centre (RGSC) is thrilled to announce the successful completion of the Model Glider Competition 2023, a hallmark event in our educational calendar. This year’s competition was a spectacular demonstration of the incredible talent, ingenuity, and enthusiasm of our young participants in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).

We hosted talented Grade 10 and Grade 12 students from across the nation, showcasing their skills and creativity in aeronautics. The excitement was palpable as the students’ model gliders took to the skies, each one a testament to the potential of our future scientists and engineers.

Our winners, drawn from schools all over the country, demonstrated a high level of expertise and teamwork in designing and operating their model gliders. We are proud to recognize the hard work and dedication of each participating student, and we celebrate their achievements:

The event was also marked by the historic signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the RGSC and the Aeronautical Society of Mauritius (AeSM). This collaboration aims to strengthen mutual cooperation and promote the exchange of scientific, technical, and professional knowledge in STEM, Aeronautics, and Aviation, marking a new chapter in the advancement of these fields in Mauritius.

Our deepest gratitude goes to all the staff of the RGSC and the members of the AeSM who have contributed their time, expertise, and dedication to ensuring the success of this event. Their commitment to fostering an environment of learning and exploration is truly commendable.

We would also like to thank all the students, teachers, and everyone involved in this competition.
